Release Notes
SDR 82698 Activation with the BlackBerry MDS Services might fail while a new BlackBerry MDS Administration policy is being pushed to
the BlackBerry device.
Workaround:
> Activate with the BlackBerry MDS Services again.
SDR 80445 The BlackBerry MDS Services URL does not include the fully-qualified domain name of the computer on which it is installed, so
notifications can not be sent to the BlackBerry MDS Services. You can not specify this computer name during the setup program
and you can not modify the computer name in the BlackBerry Manager.
BlackBerry MDS Services
SDR 91683 If two operations are defined in the web service with the same name but different portTypes, and either one or both are mapped
in the new application, the BlackBerry MDS Services might use the incorrect operation and fail to process the message.
Workaround:
> Define all operations in a web service using different names, even when they are on different ports.
SDR 88780 The BlackBerry Enterprise Server migration tool does not support migration of the BlackBerry MDS Services databases from
Microsoft SQL Server to DB2 UDB.
BlackBerry Messaging Agent
SDR 80730 If you are using the third-party application NeedTEXT Monitor to monitor the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and you are using
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps, this application fails when it runs the ‘GetBulk’ or ‘Walk’ functions on the
besUserHealthTable container.
SDR 58361 If you are using Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) add-on software, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server does not handle PGP MIME
messages.
SDR 48874 If a user replaces a valid email address with an incorrect email address in the address book on the BlackBerry device, an email
message sent to the incorrect address does not bounce back and might be sent to another email address that partly matches
the incorrect email address.
BlackBerry Policy Service
SDR 75547 If the network connection between the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the BlackBerry Configuration Database is unfavorable,
the BlackBerry Policy Service might use increased system resources when determining whether users require upgrades to the
applications on their BlackBerry devices.
Setup program
SDR 90656 If your database environment is Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database Engine (MDSE), during an upgrade of the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server from Version 4.1 to Version 4.1 SP1, after you restart the computer and continue the upgrade, the License Key
field is empty.
Workaround:
> Cancel the setup program and then run it again.
SDR 89855 If you are upgrading the BlackBerry Enterprise Server from versions earlier than 4.0 SP4 to Version 4.1 SP1, settings customized
within the BlackBerry Services are not preserved. These settings include the General, Log On and the Recovery tabs found under
the properties of a BlackBerry service.
SDR 81444 If you upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 3.6 SP6 to Version 4.1, image attachments attached to email messages
that are sent to the BlackBerry device do not appear in the Open Attachment screen.
Workaround:
> In the Attachment Server tab of the BlackBerry Configuration Panel, add image attachment formats (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, BMP)
to the Format Extension list and then restart the BlackBerry Attachment Server.
Wireless calendar synchronization
SDR 79527 In some circumstances, if your environment is configured with the messaging server over a Wide Area Network (WAN) with the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server, calls for calendar items and messages might result in hung threads that force the BlackBerry
Messaging Agent to restart.
SDR 62253 In some circumstances, if a user modifies the recurrence pattern of a recurring meeting, when the updated meeting requests are
sent to the invitees, error messages appear in the BlackBerry Messaging Agent logs.
